1. What is Taekwondo?

Answer: Our classes are open to students of all ages, from young children to adults. We offer specialized programs for kids, teens, and adults to ensure age-appropriate training and development.
4. What should I wear to class?
Answer: Once you become a member, you will be required to wear a traditional Taekwondo uniform (dobok), which can be purchased through the club.
5. Do I need to be in great shape to start?
Answer: Not at all! Taekwondo is a fantastic way to improve your fitness. Our classes are designed to help you build strength, flexibility, and endurance over time, no matter your current fitness level.
6. How often should I attend classes?
Answer: For optimal progress, we recommend attending the offered 2 classes per week.
7. What is the belt system in Taekwondo?
Answer: Taekwondo uses a colored belt system to signify rank and skill level. Students begin as white belts and advance through various colors (yellow, green, blue, red, black) based on their technical skills, knowledge, and dedication. We hold testing every 3 months, but students must first be approved by their instructor to participate.
8. How long does it take to earn a black belt?
Answer: The time to earn a black belt varies, but typically it takes about 2-3 years of consistent training and dedication. Advancement depends on the student's skill, commitment, and the requirements of each level.
9. Are there tournaments or competitions?
Answer: Yes! We regularly participate in local and regional tournaments, as well as other martial arts events. Competitions are a great way to challenge yourself, gain experience, and showcase your skills. However, participation in tournaments is optional.
10. Is Taekwondo only about fighting?
Answer: While Taekwondo includes sparring (Kyrogi), it is much more than that. It is about personal growth, respect, discipline, and focus. We also emphasize patterns, self-defense techniques, and improving mental and physical health.
11. Do you offer classes for kids?
Answer: Yes, we offer programs for children 4 years and up. These classes focus on developing coordination, balance, respect, focus, and self-control, while also teaching the fundamentals of Taekwondo in a fun and engaging way.
12. Is Taekwondo safe?
Answer: Safety is our top priority. Our instructors are highly trained and emphasize proper technique to reduce the risk of injury. We also provide appropriate protective gear for sparring and ensure all students are trained with safety in mind.
13. Can I start training if I have a medical condition or injury?
Answer: If you have a medical condition or injury, we recommend you consult with your doctor before starting. Our instructors can modify training to accommodate specific needs, but it’s important to ensure that you’re cleared for physical activity.

Answer: Once you are ready to sign up, simply contact us through the website. We’ll prepare the necessary forms, which you can complete at your first class. We also offer trial classes so you can experience Taekwondo before committing.

Introductory Package:
We offer a two-month introductory package for $195 + GST. This includes two months of instruction, a dobok (uniform), crest, and a belt with the student’s name.
Regular Monthly Fees:
After the introductory package, our regular monthly fees are $70 + GST per student.

Answer: Taekwondo classes are offered on a month-to-month basis, and we do not provide refunds. Please ensure you are able to commit for the full month before enrolling.
18. Can I bring a friend or family member to watch a class?
Answer: Absolutely! We welcome family and friends to observe classes. We also encourage prospective students to watch a class before joining to get a feel for the training environment.

20. Do you offer any summer camps or special programs during the summer?
Answer: Yes! We offer three one-week day camps during July and August for ages 4-14. These camps teach the basics of Taekwondo and are suitable for all skill levels.
The cost for each week of camp is $195 + GST.
